♪ and i can't explain >> a fair well to whitney houston in the church where she found her voice. we'll have more on whitney houston's funeral in a moment. we begin with the weather. there is at least a chance we could see some snow tomorrow. meteorologist chuck bell joins us live in storm center 4 with the latest details. when have you got. >> the emphasis should be on the word chance. there's a chance of snow. but the chances of snow are inching their way down with each passing run of the computer models. temperatures right now, no surprise. it's mild outside after a near 60 degree day across the area today. temperatures are still above average highs for this time of the year in the mid to upper 40s. your dusunday planner, no conces for the first half of the day. temperatures in the 30s. we'll get into the low 40s briefly tomorrow. any chances for snow come later in the day tomorrow. as far as chances, a 40% chance of just flakes here in the

washington area. about a 40% chance of maybe up to an inch and only about a 20% chance of getting more than an inch here in the washington area. better chances for heavier snow way down across southwestern virginia. we'll detail all that, give you the forecast coming up. ♪ and i will always love you >> whitney houston's funeral ended with what is perhaps her most famous song. that nearly four-hour service was held at the singer also childhood church in newark, new jersey. dionne warwick, kevin costner and stevie wonder were among those who paid tribute to her. >> she was just such a beautiful human being. really, really caring, beautiful, thoughtful human being. >> so what i know about her is that she loved the lord. and if there was a grace that carried her all the way through, it was the same grace that carried her home.

>> whitney houston will be buried tomorrow, next to her father, who passed away in 2003. two other items of note from today's funeral for whitney houston. her ex-husband, bobby brown, did attend but only briefly. brown issued a statement saying he was repeatedly asked to move, so he decided to leave instead of creating a scene. also, aretha franklin had been expected to sing at the service. she was a no-show. she told "access hollywood" that she'd been up most of the night with leg spasms and was too ill to attend. a jury now has the task of deciding whether former uva lacrosse player george huguely killed his girlfriend. they got the case after passionate closing arguments from the prosecution and defense today. news 4's july carey reports from charlottesville. >> george huguely leaves court tonight, his fate now in the hands of a charlottesville jury. it is closing argument prosecutor dave chapman urged jurors to return one of two

verdicts, felony murder or second degree murder. yardly love died of blunt force injury to the brain after george lugly brock down her bedroom door, shook and beat her then tossed here on her bed. the couple fought days before with huguely sending an e-mail about a romantic rival that read, i should have killed you. asked chapman of the jurors, can you imagine the sight, sound and fury of what was upon her. throughout the trial, huguely's lawyers maintained he never meant to harm love that night and only went to her room to patch things up. challenging that, chatman grabbed the door that huguely kicked a hole through and said to jurors what kind of a conversation starter is that? it's the beginning of terror. in his arguments, huguely's lawyer called prosecutors over zealous for seeking a murder conviction. francis lawrence asked the jury instead to carefully consider an involuntary manslaughter verdict, said lawrence, george huguely contributed to her death.

but no, he did not kill her. he left her there alive. this is not in dispute. love's body was found by her roommate about two hours after huguely left the apartment when they got the case earlier this evening, jurors said they were too tired to start deliberations. so because of the holiday, they won't be back until wednesday morning. in charlottesville, july cary, news 4. the man accused of a plan to bomb the capitol building, prayed just beforehand. the fbi says he was not a regular worshipper at the mosque. this is the same mosque where anwar al alaki once served as imam. the mosque's current i ma'am is among a group of muslim leaders who regularly meet with the fbi. a car crash in prince georges county. tonight, a young mother is gone and police are still looking for

the man behind the wheel. darcy spencer joins us live. >> reporter: well, aaron, i was able to speak to those family members tonight. they were obviously extremely distraught. they lost their loved one early this morning, right here on suitland road, just down the street from where i'm standing. to make matters worse for the family, the person behind the wheel still hasn't been caught. >> i lost my sister. >> reporter: relatives are grieving the loss of tyesha williams. she was 18 years old, the mother of a little boy about to turn two. she died in a car crash in prince georges county early saturday morning. police say the driver left the scene. >> i just want to say if anybody knows the whereabouts of who the driver was, please come forward and alert the authorities. >> reporter: the single car crash happened here at suitland rude and hillmar drive about

1:30 in the morning. relatives say four people were in the car, tyesha, one of the passengers, was ejected. >> she was up here at the grandmother's house of my grandson. her and her friend of hers left out with somebody and i get a call and says she's been in an accident. so i came out here to find out, get some answers of what happened to her. >> reporter: relatives say it appears the car hydro planed on standing water, went airborne and struck a tree. they say there have been other crashes here. they want the county to investigate the correct the problems with this road. >> if you look over there now, you can see there was an accident over there recently. i don't know how many accidents in the same zone -- i do know it has caused tyesha williams. we have to deal with that. the county should deal with fixing this area so nobody has to deal with this again. >> reporter: prince georges county police tell me that they have identified that driver. they know who he is at this point. they're not releasing his name.

they're actively looking for him and once he's arrested, he will face some very serious charges. reporting live from suitland, darcy spencer, news 4. >> thank you. the battle over legalizing gay marriage in maryland now moves to the state senate. last night, the house of delegates approved a same-sex marriage bill. the senate will vote on that issue next week. it passed a similar bill last year. governor martin owe malley says he will sign the measure into law, but both sides in the debate believe voters will eventually settle the issue. >> it could very well go to referendum and we understand that. we're going to watch and see what the senate does, but at the same time, we are very prepared to be in place of taking this to the voice of the people. >> if it does go to referendum, we'll be talking to people about why marriage equality is important for the state of maryland and why two people who love each other should be able to go to city hall and get a marriage license. >> if the billbe comes law, maryland would be the eighth state, plus d.c. to legalize gay

we've got a long way to go. it's still 50 in fredericksburg, 17 inhagerstow. we'll be dry for the first half of sunday. 8:00 in the morning, temperatures mainly in the 30s. we'll climb into the low 40s for a brief time tomorrow, before the precipitation gets a little bit closer to us. the winter storm watch that was posted out to our south and west has been cancelled by the national weather service. so that's their indication of lower, expectations. moisture now across parts of north carolina and tennessee. the parent low pressure area is just about into northwestern louisiana now. a big plume of moisture way out ahead of it now is rob being some of the moisture that we would have otherwise gotten. so now we have this huge dry slot here inside of this storm. and that is also going to start to limit our ability to generate snow around here tomorrow. so snow lovers, this may not be the one for us. here we go, 3:00 tomorrow afternoon, snow firing up across

southwestern virginia. i do think there will be a time late tomorrow afternoon into tomorrow evening where we get snow here into the washington area before the storm races on out to sea and then sunshine back as early as monday afternoon. overnight tonight, here's our snow forecast. clouds racing in early during the course of the day tomorrow. and snow amounts, i've lowered them just a touch now. here's what i think my latest thinking is for snow totals. only trace amounts now, north of the washington area. trace to maybe two inches at the most. two at the most to four inches down towards cull pepper, and that's about it. overnight tonight, clear evening. high clouds coming in early morning. tomorrow, skies becoming mostly cloudy with a chance of some snow later into the day. again, don't get your hopes up. if you're planning on taking the sled out tomorrow, greece it up good. you'll be shredding on rocks for the most part. temperatures to near 60 by wednesday, thursday and friday. even if we got an inch of snow,

it would not live for very long. don't worry about your snowman name, just yet. >> gotcha. thank you, chuck. want to tell you about a dangerous trend making a comeback thanks to social media. it's called the cinnamon challenge. try to eat a teaspoon of ground cinnamon. school officials in charles county and across the northeast say they've seen popularity in the cinnamon game spike. this has teachers and parents concerned that peer pressure could convince kids to give it a try. >> pretty terrifying when you have that kind of peer pressure. >> i think it's horrible. it's stupid. doesn't make any sense. >> swallowing large amounts of cinnamon is not toxic, but it can coat your throat and make it easier to check. coming up in sports tonight, the caps get struck by lightning. plus the hoyas beat the buzzer.
